Unexpected break...

So with the new Devil Survivor 2 anime, being a gamer that played Persona 3 Portable, I couldn't help but be curious and started playing Devil Survivor 2 for the DS. It's more of a strategy game unlike P3P but the time span is only 7 days!? Yet, it still has social links and stuff, ugh I definitely need a guide if I want to complete everything. Sadly though, I'm almost at the end of my first playthrough but I started playing Persona 4 Golden instead of finishing it... orz... why? Because I saw them playing with a vita in oreimo and I couldn't resist especially since I only recent got P4G. So now I've completely sidetracked from playing not only otome games but also devil survivor 2...

It's fun and everything but (ToT)
I saw Persona 4 Animation so I already know the story but it's fun being the silent protagonist and making silly choices and going more in depth for everyone's side stories ( ^∇^)

Glass Heart Princess - Conclusion

Doumyouji Gai is the secret route that isn't so secret because he appears as a common event for everyone. One day around November, Satsuki tells Kyoko that there's a guest in the living room that her father wanted her to meet. As Kyoko goes in, Satsuki mumbles 'shotas are also nice', LOL. The guests are old friends of the Himeno family, Doumyouji and his son Gai. The Doumyoujis have been doing business overseas for a while now, so it's been some time since they've returned to Japan. For the 10 year old Gai, it's his first time meeting Kyoko or at least the first time he can remember. Actually Kyoko has met him before as a baby and apparently has also even changed his diaper, which embarasses the young guy. Gai is going to attend Tokiwa and his father tells Kyoko how Gai was excited to be able to go to the same school as his fiance, making Kyoko ask who? when it's Kyoko. So Kyoko's father had, at one point a long time ago, a rough patch with the company and it was Gai's father who helped him out of it. That's why Monji feels indebted to Doumyouji that he, over drinks, even offered his daughter's hand in marriage to Doumyouji if he ever has a son. Monji never told Kyoko about it so of course she was shocked to hear about it from Gai, who has been told about it and it seems he was actually excitedly expecting it. The parents say it was just some promise they made so the kids don't have to abide by it. This news makes Kyoko relieved, since having a sudden young fiance is too much for her, but it shocks Gai making him question if Kyoko wouldn't want to be engaged to him, with eyes of an abandoned puppy according to Kyoko even though she can't see them, that's exactly what she said lol. Unable to reject him, Kyoko seeks help from his dad but he's all for having such a pretty daughter and Monji is fine with it as long as Kyoko is. So it's decided that Kyoko and Gai will go on dates and the real shota option is opened.

Actually if Kyoko messes up and doesn't get a guy by Christmas, which really disappoints Satsuki btw, the game automatically goes into the normal ending. The normal ending is a Christmas date with Gai who is really interested in Kyoko and asks for her to wait for him to become a great man.

When aiming for Gai, for the first date Gai shows up with a bouquet of flowers that's too big for him to hold that it looks like a bouquet with legs, and Kyoko and Satsuki find this so cute. They go to the mall to get to know one another, but a purse snatcher runs by and Kyoko has Shinnosuke take care of the guy. Seeing this Gai starts admiring Shinnosuke for his bravely and asks Shinnosuke to make him his disciple. Shinnosuke gladly accepts Gai as his disciple and even has high expectations for him. The next date Kyoko goes visit Gai when he's training in the mountains with Shinnosuke. There she sees him training martial arts and finds the little guy a little cool that she dokis a little. When they take a break, both Shinnosuke and Gai for some reason change back into their normal clothes, they say it's because as gentlemen they can't present themselves to Kyoko all sweaty so they changed, more like the staff didn't make the sprite just for this one scene haha. Shinnosuke reveals to Kyoko that Gai has promise but he's seriously lacking in confidence so Shinnosuke wants to find some way to boost it some time soon. The date after Gai visits the Himeno mansion while Shinnosuke and Satsuki are out. Burglars somehow make it into the mansion. Gai and Kyoko are tied up in the living while the burglars look around the mansion, and Gai is completely terrified which makes Kyoko pity him. At times like these Kyoko has a secret transmitter to contact Shinnosuke, but it turns out this is all part of Shinnosuke's 'plan' but the burglars are real. Kyoko unable to reveal the cruel truth instead encourages Gai to use his training and somehow save them. With words of encouragement and one of the many weapons Shinnosuke has hidden around the mansion, Gai suddenly goes wild by first freeing himself, then using a taser to incapacitate one of the burglars while threatening the other with another weapon. Kyoko seeing the little guy take down the criminals starts feeling that he may be going just a little over board tries to stop him, but he claims it's for her sake so Kyoko can't say otherwise. After Gai has taken down the criminals, Shinnosuke shows up to applaud Gai for a job well done. But the series of events makes Gai think that Kyoko and Shinnosuke did all this just to make a fool out of him and runs home crying, even returning overseas.

It's 10 years, Kyoko hasn't made any improvement in the love department since then, probably because she's always felt a little guilty from what happened. One day upon returning home, Kyoko is greeted by a Satsuki in panic begging Kyoko to wear the wedding dress if not her collection is in danger, lol. Seeing how desperate Satsuki is, Kyoko wears the dress then goes back out to find Shinnosuke beaten up. A young man appears sitting on top of Shinnosuke and greets Kyoko saying long time no see, it's Gai!! After the humiliation, Gai went back overseas trained like crazy and became worse than Shinnosuke as he's also a bit of an S. Gai beat up Shinnosuke because he completely thought that him and Kyoko were together so he wanted to snatch away Kyoko, but since it wasn't the case he'll still just take her. An option appears for Kyoko to accept or refuse but either way she can't refuse, hahaha.

Glass Heart Princess was really fun. I repeat it was really fun!! I honestly didn't expect all the parody, the breaking the fourth wall, the tsukkomis, and the whacky characters with their whacky plots. I loved this game! All the characters were great! Each had a personality that was really fun! The interactions between characters were fun to watch and Kyoko was also great at role of tsukkomi when needed. The game was colorful and pretty. There were plenty of CGs some really awesome ones. The events were unique to each character so nothing really repeats. I highly suggest going through some of the choices because some of them had some really interesting and funny reactions. The game even covered what happened if they failed the cultural festival event, Kyoko ends up singing and dancing on stage instead after Satsuki had her learn the songs in her sleep hahaha. As I said in the beginning, Satsuki is awesome! I really hope they make a fandisk for this game, because it really deserves it unlike some other games coughhakuoukicough. The system was simple except for Shinnosuke but with prior knowledge of this it's fine, the text isn't too complicated that someone with a decent understanding of Japanese wouldn't be able to understand, the game isn't too long in fact since I like it so much now I feel like it wasn't enough, the characters are lovable, the stories are decent, this game is definitely worth playing.

Glass Heart Princess - Masaki Shinnosuke

Masaki Shinnosuke, Kyoko’s capable, protective, trigger-happy, ojousama crazy, hetare butler, has an annoying system for his route, I mean why would you make a route where you don’t go on dates with him until like half way through the game! At first he looked like another character with a very similar name but Shinnosuke is much more expressive especially when things concern his precious ojousama, from all the other routes especially Yukito's we can definitely see that. Shinnosuke is the initial choice for practice dates, and he's the one charge of Kyoko's physical training that he even made the jersey Kyoko wears for training. He's always with Kyoko but nothing has happened at all because Kyoko's love level is 0 and Shinnosuke is just a hetare, at least according to Satsuki, haha.

Glass Heart Princess - Karasuma Yukito

Karasuma Yukito, probably the most normal character you can get in this game, transferred from a average normal high school to the rich Tokiwa Gakuen so he doesn’t really get along with anyone else plus it doesn't help that everyone thinks he is a delinquent from always being late, sleeping in class, and leaving school early. But during her search for guys on a rainy day, Kyoko notices Yukito putting his coat over a poor abandoned puppy and falls in love, cliche haha!! With this Kyoko takes the opportunity to approach Yukito, at first saying that a teacher asked her because he wasn't getting along with his class, but afterwards Kyoko just straight up tells him that she wants to get to be friends with him, starting Yukito's route.

Glass Heart Princess - Asahina Tenma

Asahina Tenma, the school doctor who’s all about 青春, clearly likes Kyoko and is clearly happy to go on dates with the school’s popular ‘onee-sama’. Interestingly, Tenma is licensed to teach almost all subjects so after summer break, when all the other teachers feel lazy, he fills in for all the classes, haha. So Kyoko falls for Tenma when she realizes how suteki Sensei is while enjoying a nap on his lap as a pillow. Kyoko works up the courage to ask Tenma on a date, who gladly accepts, and Sensei's route starts.

Glass Heart Princess - Hoshino Kanata

Hoshino Kanata, the 'spacey' character who from your first meeting clearly isn't your average human being, (get it spacey). On her hunt for someone to fall in love with, Kyoko goes through the student body and faculty without falling for anyone. As a final resort, she goes to the rumored tree where if two people meet there then they are fated to be together. Kyoko waits under the tree but as she's about to give up something falls from the sky and hits her on the head knocking her unconscious. Kyoko wakes up to an unfamiliar guy wearing the school uniform laying on the ground. Hoshino introduces himself and starts chating with the alien doll on his shoulder, which is incomprehensible because words are beeped out, and then as if the tv got turned off the screen turns black. Afterwards Kyoko wakes up, recognizing Hoshino as her classmate and without finding anything odd, Kyoko just goes on with her plan to ask him out on a date thinking he's her fated person, and with this we start Hoshino Kanata's route.

Glass Heart Princess: Review

Title: Glass Heart Princess

Simple Synopsis: The heroine, Himeno Kyoko, is an ojousama who suddenly finds out towards the end of her high school third year summer vacation that she is diagnosed with "Glass Heart Syndrome" where basically if she doki doki's (in other words overexerts her heart) too much her heart will break. Thanks to her brilliant otaku maid, Satsuki, it’s decided with doctor’s approval that Kyoko has to fall in love to rehabilitate her heart, and thus love saves all. Kyoko is told to just go find some guy and confess so she has the options of her butler, Masaki Shinnosuke the militant fanatic, Karasuma Yukito, the rare cliche delinquent in the school, Asahina Tenma, the brilliant childish-looking school doctor, Hoshino Kanata, the spaced-out ditzy airhead 'student', and lastly a secret character that isn't so secretive. And note all the guys have some ‘other’ side to themselves.

Wand of Fortune 2 FD Limited Edition Drama CD Translation

Wand of Fortune 2~FD Kimi ni Sasageru Epilogue Limited Edition Drama CD Translation
Title : ちいさなあの子とおままごと!お父さん奮闘記
(Little her and playing house and fathers struggle)
42:45 minutes

(Note : As a child, Lulu refers to herself in third person and I kept that because I believe Japanese children do do that besides it’s cute.)

Solo : It was one very nice day when Lulu became small and everyone was looking after her, but at some point for some reason Lulu’s mood worsened. Hmm, what could possibly be the matter? Everyone looks troubled but it seems like no one has a good solution. Children are cute but are hard to handle. Eh? What, even though I shouldn't meet with everyone yet am I here you ask? Like the fairy named Bell says don’t sweat small stuff.

Snack Time

So my mother went away for the past week and when she returned he brought back souvenirs for me. My souvenirs were all from a nearby small japanese department store, more specifically they were all from the snack aisle, haha. And because my mommy brought back a lot of snacks I felt like taking a picking of all of it. But I’m only sharing because there was something I really really really liked that I really really really wanted to share!!! O(≧▽≦)O  (´∀`)♡
Hint:

by the way I recommend this show (^v^)

Kami Naru Kimi To: Review

Title: 神なる君と [Kami Naru Kimi To]
website: http://www.otomate.jp/kamikimi/

Simple Synopsis: Kamiki Sakuya, protagonist, is one day suddenly becomes a god as replacement for the one at her childhood friend's shrine. As a god, it is her duty to fulfill the wishes she can fulfill. With the help of the guys she meets, Sakuya fulfills various prayers, helps solve the issues of friends, while growing closer to one of the guys until the star festival, when she is relieved of her god powers.

To be honest I wasn’t expecting too much from this game even though the artist is Nagaoka, who did Clock Zero (one of my favorites), because there wasn’t any hype about it, the cv’s weren’t particularly any of my favorites, the characters weren’t particularly very attractive, and part of the characters were three animals which made me question it (−_−;) but it turns out I was sooo wrong. This game turned out to be so much fun, so moving, and just so great that I really really wished they had made a fandisk, or a drama cd, at least something!! (ノД`)・゜ One of the charms of this game was definitely the heroine, who was so funny with her silliness, stupidity, and attitude but also awesome because she didn’t just take things sitting down. Aside from her all the characters, Narumi, Yakumo, Yuzuru, Rei, and Mikoto were charming, even the three animals that I thought were so weird, and even down to the parents who didn’t even have sprites but were just so awesome with their treatment of Sakuya. Kami naru kimi to, BANZAI!!

CIS 3810 Post 1

Welcome!

This is a blog where I hope to share interests in Japanese manga, and games. A little about me, I have been watching anime and reading manga for quite some time. It wasn't until several years ago, around 2010, that I started listening to drama cds and, playing, otoges. Some of my favorite animes are Nodame Cantible and Honey and Clover, I highly recommend them as they are nice mixes of pursuit of dreams, romance, and comedy. And, my first otoge (otome game) was Otometeki Love Revo! for the DS which  believe me, I had a difficult time understanding everything, even so I enjoyed it. Since at the time I knew so little about otoges if it weren’t for some review sites and forums I don’t think I would have gotten this far in liking otoges. Since then I’ve played quite a number of games some I loved, some not so great, some popular, some less talked about overall though I really want to contribute in spreading the love.

Ideally, I want to share my impressions of what I listen to and what I play, so everything is purely my opinion and I’m happy to hear other opinions. If possible, I may try translating some things as I have been wanting to try, again if possible. All I ask is for patience and to not ask how to get things.

Thank you for reading this, and I hope you will enjoy my blog.

PS. To be honest this blog is for one of my classes, so I'd really appreciate it if everyone could cooperate and comment, haha. Please bear with me, thank you very much.
